Hello

My name is Harvey Bane and I am a retired U.S.Navy Deep Sea Diver. I served from 1981 to 2001 and dove the world over. I dove on just about every vessel that the Navy had in the water from tug boats to aircraft carriers. I have since developed a successful remodeling company that specializes in remodeling condominiums in Panama City Florida.During these four decades I enjoyed beer and wine making and studying the history and the making of bourbons and whiskeys.

My Story

The last ten years of my career in the Navy were spent as an instructor, experimental diver and quality assurance officer. The skills that I obtained during those years eventually carried over into my lifelong hobby of making beer and wine I got to a point where I was very interested in distilling practices so I started touring and tasting at craft distillery's every chance I could. My daughter took me on a tour of a distillery in Fort Worth Texas for Father's Day, bought me a book about the art and science of distilling from the gift shop and right there the passion was born.

Along my journey I was about to visit many distilleries. I was allowed to do some volunteer work just so I could get my hands on some gear and actually get involved in distilling. During my volunteering, I was able to create the perfect blend that I was proud to stand behind. That is when I came up with the idea to make a tribute bourbon to all those who work on and under the sea.

Now that I have created the perfect blend, it was time to create a name to match. I sat down with many divers and the ideas were over whelming. The name was created, and the tribute was written. We have designed a beautiful smooth bourbon that everyone really enjoys. So here it is Copper Collar Bourbon, a tribute inspired by those who know first-hand what it is like to work on and under the sea.
