About Me
My name is Harvey Bane. I am the owner and founder of Copper Collar Spirits LLC the birthplace of Copper Collar Bourbon. I am a retired U.S. Navy Deep Sea Diver. I served 20 years from 1981-2001. The Navy had me diving the world over on every ship that the Navy had in the water from tugboats and mine sweepers to submarines and aircraft carriers. Not to mention walking on the bottom fixing and recovering “stuff”. All the divers I met and worked with along the way are still not just friends but a close nit family to this day and quite a few of them have a lot to do with this bourbon.

Our Story
The last ten years of my Navy career were spent as an instructor, experimental diver and quality assurance officer. These skillsets carried over into my lifelong passion for beer and wine making. I eventually developed a curiosity for distilling. Especially Bourbon.

This journey led me to work at a few distilleries. Under the watchful eyes of master distillers and with much study and experimentation I learned the art and craft of distilling, blending and ageing fine whiskeys and bourbon.

Our grain bill is 60% sweet corn, 20% barley, 10% wheat and 10% black rye. It is aged five years and bottled at 90 proof.

Every single bottle is filled, corked and labeled by the hands of retired Navy Divers and our loving friends and family.

We all enjoy this bourbon very much.

We are sure you will too.

I found my niche and was able to come up with an exceptional bourbon. Thus, a star was born. That is when I came up with the idea to make a tribute bourbon. A tribute to all those who work on and under the sea. Now I needed to come up with a perfect name. Navy Divers are referred to as Copper Collar Workers, so the name was easy. The logo was created, and the tribute on the back label was written.

Copper Collar Bourbon is hand crafted in small batches. It is distilled and aged from Florida grains and Florida spring water in the Florida panhandle at the Timber Creek Distillery in Crestview Florida.
